Seminar on the Code of Good Practices on Food Commercial Contracts
The LAFER Foundation organizes the conference on 21 January in Madrid (NH Principe de Vergara, 92) at 16:15. This meeting seeks the views of the various stakeholders in the food sector (agricultural organizations, industry and distribution). The Commercial Code of Good Practices on Food Commercial Contracts is promoted by the MAGRAMA and establishes the principles on which it is to inform trade relations and business practices. Moreover, the current context of its implementation, marked by abstention in signing the Association of Spanish Supermarket Chains (ACES) and the National Association of Large Distribution Companies (ANGED), who will try their hold reservations regarding the application. During the meeting the views of various experts on self-regulation in the food industry and the history of this document and engagement with existing legislation in the entire EU will be heard.
The meeting will end with a panel discussion to which are invited various industry representatives. In the same an interesting debate on the present reality and the introduction of the Code, considered the last of the measures related to the introduction of the Law on Measures for improving the functioning of the food chain, driven from the MAGRAMA be encouraged.
After a few words of welcome from Manuel Lamela, president of the LAFER Foundation, and Jorge Jordana, director of agrifood area, Carlos Cabanas, Secretary General of Agriculture and Food of the Ministry of Agriculture (MAGRAMA), will make introductory meeting explaining the context that has emerged this Code. La Jornada that will be divided into two blocs, discussed in the first part of the regulatory framework and self-regulation in the food industry, at national and European level. The second section will be devoted to a round table between the links of the food chain: agricultural organizations, food industry and distribution companies.
Within the first block part Ignacio Cruz Roche, Professor of Marketing and Market Research at the UAM, Eduardo Amejide president Mercasa and Esther Herranz MEP and member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development. This first part ends with a brief discussion between the speakers, coordinated by Jorge Jordana.
Within the roundtable will participate Agustín Herrero, CEO of Cooperatives, Aurelio del Pino, president of ACES, Magarzo Ignacio Garcia, CEO of ASEDAS, Mauricio Garcia de Quevedo, CEO of IFLA, Jose Ramon Diaz, head of interbranch organizations Agrifood chain ASAJA and Roman Santalla, Secretary General of Livestock of UPA, being moderated by Miguel Angel Diaz Yubero, counselor adviser of LAFER Foundation.
