Prevam, the new solution against whitefly in persimmon
PREVAM® has recently been authorized for use in persimmon against whitefly. This acts by contact and is effective against nymphs L1, L2 and adults. It stands out for its speed of action, stopping the cycle of the plague and the segregation of molasses since the day of treatment. NUFARM also recommends its joint application with systemic insecticides authorized in persimmon.
The white fly (Dialeurodes citri) produces very important damages in the plantations of persimmon of the Valencian counties of the Ribera Alta and the Ribera Baja. This plague weakens the tree, reducing its vegetative development and productive potential when the attacks are very serious. The insect sucks the sap weakening the plant, the larvae secrete molasses and it falls on leaves and fruits, on which the fungus called “negrilla” develops. The bold makes the normal operation of the leaves difficult and negatively affects the commercial value of the harvest. To this phytosanitary problem, the limited list of insecticides authorized in persimmon effective against this pest is added.
PREVAM® is exempt from maximum residue limit (MRL) and is suitable for organic farming. Due to its action mode, PREVAM® is a perfect ally for resistance management and is compatible with the main species of auxiliary fauna.
PREVAM® is a product manufactured by Oro Agri B.V. and distributed exclusively by NUFARM ESPAÑA S.A. It is registered in more than 40 crops, including citrus, vegetables, fruit trees, grapes and ornamentals.
