Peru: Table grapes and asparagus topping the list of agricultural exports

Table grapes and asparagus topping the list of the most exported fruit and vegetables in the year, according to the Association of Agricultural Producers Guild – AGAP.

At the end of May, Red Globe grapes generated revenue of 235 million US dollars, while asparagus achieved 118 million US dollars. In the case of asparagus growth of 21% it was recorded, due to a better performance of this vegetable production and increased international demand, which allowed an improvement in international prices.

The grapes are followed by mangoes, as last campaign ended in March, which recorded a revenue of 151 million US dollars; followed by avocados who began their campaign in February, with 112 million US dollars. These represent a growth of 26% and 11%, respectively.
