Almería hosts next June 16 the First National Congress of Bioeconomy, ‘Food & Future’, organized by Cajamar Caja Rural, the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE) and the Science and Technology Park of Almería. This event will analyze the revolution that the bioeconomy is being for productive systems, legal mechanisms and economic structures, the role of biotechnology as an engine of change, discuss new products, models and new sources of energy, and hold business meetings.
The main topics of discussion at this forum will be “Bioeconomy solutions to the problems of the century”; “Biotechnology as an engine of change”; “New Products”, “Beyond Petroleum. Indeed, in relation to the latter point, note that the Bioeconomy represents a revolution in the way society will get vital sources of energy and carbon, reducing the process significantly dependence on oil and other traditional energy sources.
Therefore, it is brewing a new revolution in the history of human being, called to transform production systems, legal mechanisms and economic structures, and whose changes have already been anticipated by many companies
Biotechnology and advanced chemical processes make possible this transformation by providing resources sustainably for the production of bioproducts and a new food model.
For its part, the bioeconomy is based on the development of products and services based on renewable raw materials with neutral or positive environmental effects, an appropriate local economic development and good social perception processes. A reality aimed at generating innovation in the field of sustainable production and use of biomass.
