Mexico: Mexico expects to export 30,000 tons of Italian lemon

The region of Tamaulipas expects to export to the United States more than 30,000 tons, thereby seeking to overcome the 28,000 tons that were achieved in the period 2014-2015.

The presence of Italian lemon that produces Tamaulipas says, has been strengthened in global markets in the previous period recorded a sale of 28,000 tons of lemon.

Fortunately, says Humberto Ramirez Vazquez, deputy director of federal plant health, the export rate continues to rise, allowing Tamaulipas position itself as the main exporter of this product in the international market and move in the first place to the producers.

This product is of excellent quality and great value for the importance it has on niche markets where it focuses its exports, mainly to the United States.

The economic benefit generated by this business process strengthens the generation of new jobs in Tamaulipas, as well as the modernization of agricultural practices and value added services that are required for certification demanded by the food industry.

Also, the citrus is not used for export goes to the national zumera industry for the extraction of essential oils, simple and concentrated juice, plus the shell to obtain pectins for the food processing export industry.
