Mediterranean Combo, the best flavours of the Mediterranean Sea
Mediterranean Combo is presented as the union of the best flavours of the Mediterranean Sea to promote the value and quality of fruits and vegetables at a European level.
On October 5, the press event took place at the AC Atocha hotel for the presentation of the European
Mediterranean Combo project framed within the “Enjoy it’s From Europe” campaign framed in a
three-year work plan in which 8 producers from Greece and Spain participate and who will join forces to promote the value of the quality of the fruits and vegetables that grow on the shores of the
Mediterranean.
The project is funded by the European Commission which supports campaigns to promote high quality agricultural products. The event was attended by Mr. Spyridon Sigourakis as a representative of the “Anatoli” cooperative, Mr. Pascual Prats as a representative of the Spanish Kaki Association and Mr. Antonio Quintana, General Director of Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock of the Generalitat Valenciana.
In addition, it was attended by various media from the agricultural sector, as well as other companies also related to the sector and nutritionists. This first promotion has had as its central axis the presentation of the project and the eight production companies that comprise it. A union of cultural exchange in which it has been possible to know firsthand how to work the different products that are promoted.
During the event, the different representatives highlighted the importance of fresh products and their main role in a balanced and healthy diet. The main objective of Mediterranean Combo is to provide information on the merits of the agricultural products of the Union and the strict standards applicable to production methods and, in particular, in terms of food safety, traceability, authenticity, nutritional aspects, and the characteristics of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, aubergines and persimmons produced in the European Union in terms of quality and flavor.
The campaign that started its tour at the latest edition of Fruit Attraction 2021 will also be present at
some of the main agricultural sector fairs in countries such as Germany, Greece and Hungary.
The triennial campaign “Measures to promote and disseminate information on fruit and vegetables in
the EU internal market”, under the title of MEDITERRANEAN COMBO, is made up of the Cooperativa
Agrícola Anatoli – Ierapetra Crete as the main partner and as coordinator, and the Tympaki Agricultural
Cooperative, the Agricultural Cooperative for the Production and Marketing of Early Vegetables of
Ierapetra NOTOS, the Kountoura Horticultural Agricultural Producers Association, the Falasarna
Kompogennitakis Group of Agricultural Producers and CO, the Psaris Agricultural Cooperative, the
Kamiros Agricultural Cooperative and the Spanish Kaki Association.
