Macfrut 2021 presents: Italian Berry Day
The universe of berries comes to Macfrut (from September 7 to 9 in Rimini) with Italian Berry Day, the great novelty of the 2021 edition of the international fair for the fruit and vegetable sector, scheduled for Wednesday, September 8.
Promoted by Ncx Drahorad and ItalianBerry.it in collaboration with Cesena Fiera, Italian Berry Day proposes an international conference that will be attended by the main opinion leaders in the sector. In addition, it will have a thematic exhibition area at the central entrance of the fair (South Pavilion).
The conference will be open to the experiences of the entire sector, with contributions from the main production and commercialization areas of the world, a platform for meeting between nurserymen, producers, packers and large distributors.
The berry market shows exponential growth in Europe, doubling its turnover in a decade and reaching 2,000 million euros. In Italy, volume growth in the last year has been estimated between 15 and 20%.
“We are proud that the main event of the fruit and vegetable sector in Italy gives Italian blueberries, blackberries and raspberries the opportunity to present themselves – says Thomas Drahorad, president of NCX Drahorad – and the Italian Berry Day seeks to be an international showcase at the service of the sector. Italy, with the rapid growth of berry consumption, is also a market of special interest for international producers by adequately complementing the seasonality and availability of the product of Italian origin ”.
“Macfrut is once again confirmed as a content fair, with a specific focus on the main trends in the fruit and vegetable sector – explains Renzo Piraccini, president of Macfrut – For some time now, berries have played a central role in the renewed interest of the consumers worldwide thanks to the significant benefits of the product combined with ease of consumption. The growth margins are wide, but there are also many problematic aspects. All of this will be addressed in this important event scheduled for September 8 ”.
