Arrigoni, leading group in the design and production of agrotextiles for agriculture, will be exhibiting at Macfrut 2021, the international fruit & veg professional show, to be held at the Rimini Exhibition Centre from 7 to 9 September this year. It will be displaying all the latest solutions in high value-added protection systems on stand 067 in hall B3.
This year’s big novelty is Arrigoni’s participation at Italian Berry Day, the international berry conference promoted by NCX Drahorad and ItalianBerry.it, in partnership with Macfrut 2021.
Italian Berry Day will be an international conference attended by the main opinion leaders in the sector, plus a themed exhibition area in the central entrance of the main show (South Hall).
The conference will be open to the experiences of the entire supply chain, with contributions from the world’s main production and marketing areas. Event sponsor Arrigoni will be organising the workshop “Growing berries in non-native environments – Protective screens for every environmental need”, where it will present various solutions for protecting berries from attack by insects, weather and high temperatures, also displaying new results from tests conducted directly in the field.
First and foremost, the Robuxta® range, designed for use on tensostructures, is particularly suitable for this type of crop. In the white version incorporating the LD light diffusion additive, Robuxta® textiles reflect infrared radiation for effective temperature control, with reductions of up to 5 degrees in the summer months, and increases in yield of as much as 70%.
“The berries market,” Arrigoni agronomist Giuseppe Netti explains, “has grown exponentially at the global level in recent years: in the last decade, turnover has virtually doubled to about 2 billion Euro.” Italy is playing a leading role, with annual growth of around 15 – 20% (source: Ncx Drahorad) and the same applies to the southern African countries, a very interesting market for us. Therefore, for an organisation like ours, that has always operated serving agriculture, it is very important to understand these trends and to respond with tools to assist those wishing to farm in more and more effective and sustainable ways.
At Macfrut 2021, Arrigoni will also be exhibiting all its other products for modern farming, including anti-insect, anti-rain, anti-hail and anti-wind solutions. One highlighted product will be Biorete®, a range of high-tenacity anti-insect nets with dense, light weave, in polyethylene monofilament. Their clear white colour provides crops with the highest possible amounts of light, while the different mesh sizes available enable targeted protection against the different types of insect.
Also on show will be Prisma®, the entire range of polyethylene tape textiles with LD – Light Diffusion additive. These screens reflect IR radiation, improve the microclimate and reduce temperature while increasing the diffused light percentage, to encourage better growth of the plants inside.
Protecta®, on the other hand, is a very dense-woven textile that protects crops from rain while still allowing sufficient air passage.
As well as these crop protection systems, at the Rimini show Arrigoni will also be displaying all the other solutions in its range, from the Fructus® and Iride® anti-hail nets to the new products for use in the open field such as Arricover®, the Agritela® mulching ground covering, and the Libeccio® or Scirocco® wind protection nets.
