Hispatec presents Felipe VI his technology in intelligent agriculture in the Andalusian Digital Week
The Almeria-based company Hispatec has presented Felipe IV with its advances in smart agriculture, on the occasion of the celebration of the first day of Andalucía Digital Week, during a meeting chaired by His Majesty the King and the President of the Andalusian Government, Susana Díaz, together with Minister of Justice Rafael Catalá and various representatives of public and private institutions in the field of the agri-food sector, as well as entrepreneurs in digitalization of the Agro sector.
This meeting is part of the activities of the Andalusian Digital Week, the largest annual event on Economy and Digital Society in Andalusia, held in Seville on 12, 13 and 14 March
During the meeting the businessmen had the opportunity to let the monarch know the “state of the art” in terms of the digitization of the agricultural sector and the reality of the use of ICT as a driver of improvement and constant innovation.
José Luis Molina, president of Hispatec, presented certain advances in the digitization of the agri-food chain, from the crop to the consumer, applying sensorization, IoT devices, mobile applications and various integrations along the entire chain
The important role of the new management solutions for the Agro sector in improving the profitability and environmental sustainability of the production, transformation and distribution chain was also pointed out. Also, advances in advanced analytics / Big Data that are already bearing fruit.
Such is the case of the tool for analysis, simulation and prediction of crop areas, production volumes and horticultural prices under greenhouse, which was presented last Friday by the Minister of Agriculture of the Junta de Andalucía, Rodrigo Sánchez Haro.
This tool combines data sources from different sources and helps farmers and agricultural technicians to know the causes of price fluctuations and production volumes of agricultural products and, in addition, to project estimates of price and production in the near future, thanks to the treatment of data with algorithms and predictive models.

At the beginning of March, the international meeting of members of the IoF2020 project took place in Almería. This project, framed in the European Horizon 2020 Program and with a financing of 35 million euros, is the definitive backing to the culture of data as a factor of agricultural improvement, as well as the Internet of Things (IoT) applied to the agricultural sector. . Hispatec also participates in this European project with IoT developments for Olivar together with DCOOP.
For three days, the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions of Seville will be the scene of more than 50 presentations and round tables in charge of 150 outstanding professionals from the economic, business and technology sectors. To the plenary sessions are added the forums and parallel events to be held in the framework of this international meeting.
Hispatec also participated on Tuesday, March 13th, in the round table of Jornada Agrotech dedicated to “digital technologies as a great opportunity for the integral sustainability of rural habitat”, led by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Ricardo Dothmínguez García-Baquero.
