FIMA will be the largest fair held in Spain
FIMA turns Zaragoza, from February 25 to 29, into the great international capital of the agri-food market,” explained the president of Zaragoza Fair, Manuel Teruel, in a press conference presentation of the contents of the 41st edition of the contest.
The top fair leader has stressed that the International Fair of Agricultural Machinery will be the largest event of all those held in Spain, with an exhibition area of 163,500 square meters and will have a “record” figure of exhibiting firms, with a total of 1,653 from the five continents.
In his speech, Teruel has underlined the role of FIMA as a “big stage” of the world agricultural machinery sector and has emphasized that the event is an unavoidable event for all professionals, which in the last edition had the presence of More than 240,000 visitors. For 56 years, FIMA the great fair of the Mediterranean Arc and, good proof of this, is that a total of 68 countries will be present in this edition.
Teruel has also revealed the volume of foreign companies -937-, which accounts for 57 percent of the total exhibiting companies. In this regard, he said that the increase in the number of companies is five percent with the presence of 264 brands participating for the first time in this contest, indicating “the high interest that FIMA arouses in the sector.”
FIMA occupies the eleven pavilions of Feria de Zaragoza, as well as the outdoor area, where more dynamic actions and exhibitions will be held by the firms present. Among the highlights of this edition, Teruel has emphasized the celebration of the FIMA Gala, which will take place on February 26 at the Palacio de Congresos, and also wanted to indicate some elements such as “technology, innovation , digitalization, sustainability and efficiency, which make FIMA 2020 an edition that will make history. ”
For his part, the head of Marketing of Ibercaja, sponsoring entity of FIMA, Ignacio Torre, recalled that for more than 140 years “he has maintained a close relationship with the rural world, the agricultural sector and the agri-food industry making available an extensive network of offices in small towns in the rural world, which have allowed us to bring financial services to all its inhabitants ”. This proximity, he said, “has led to the specialization of a significant number of professionals to provide the best service to customers through a network of specialized offices spread throughout the national territory, which account for 25 percent of the total office network”.
This is the reason that has led Ibercaja to become a strategic partner of FIMA until 2022. “Our goal – Torre has said – is to strengthen our commitment to the Agro market and contribute to the improvement of the competitiveness of farmers, ranchers and industry agri-food transformation, facilitating its access to technology and innovation, also favoring sustainability ”
In the line of innovation and sustainability, the president of the fair institution has also referred to the Technical News Contest which, in this edition, has awarded 41 products and equipment presented by thirty companies. These are awards that take on great prominence since they emphasize innovation and research as tools for the future. Along the same lines, the company Finca Bizcarra, from Belgua (Huesca), has been awarded the FIMA Excellence Award for its innovative management, digitalization and environmental efficiency.
Teruel has confirmed the leading role of FIMA and has pointed out that the economic impact of this edition will be 350 million, a figure that exhibits the strength of the event and the interest that arouses among companies and professionals. The head of the fair has been convinced that this edition marks “a milestone in the history of the event.”
