Extenda promote business contacts with importers from Colombia and Peru

Bakery and olive oil prevail in these Latin American markets in which Andalusia ranks first and second in the national ranking of exports. A total of five Andalusian food companies have attended an international meeting in the food and beverage sector in Colombia and Peru with more than fifty importers to make business contacts and know the business market in both countries.

Organized by the Ministry of Economy and Knowledge, through Extenda-Trade Promotion Agency of Andalusia, the meeting was held in Bogota (Colombia) during the first two days, where some Andalusian companies interested traveled to Cali and Barranquilla. Also today end their route exploration of Latin American markets in Lima (Peru).

The action agenda is a series of more than 50 bilateral meetings with importers, distributors of food industry and supermarket chains, on their own premises, which has been organized in collaboration with Antenna Extenda in Colombia and Peru.

Andalusian agro-food companies attended this meeting to meet the demand of both countries of South America, especially interested in canned fish, olives, spices, jams, sauces, and cheeses, in the case of Colombia, according to data from Extenda. Thus, the Andalusian delegation attended a total of five specialized companies in the food industry and beverages from Sevilla (SADRYM, and Salysol); Almeria (Luxeapers); Cordoba (Monterreal oils); and Jaen (Oils Vallejo).

Moreover, the objective of Extenda in this mission is focused on promoting the presence of Andalusian brands in these markets; besides showing the participating companies business opportunities in this industry; and expand the network of contacts with international buyers by visiting points of sale Colombian and Peruvian industry.

The agri-food and beverage sales in the first quarter of 2015 to Colombia and Peru remains positive, with growth of 87.5% in exports to Colombia, growing almost twice, and an increase of 36.2% on data Peru registered. Also in these markets Andalucía is located as first and second community in the ranking of exporters with 55.6% and 29% of total Spanish, respectively, where the provinces of the region noted for bakery sales and olive oil according Extenda.
