David del Pino leaves his position of general manager at the cooperative Granada La Palma
The director general of the fruits and vegetables cooperative Granada La Palma, Carchuna (Granada), David del Pino Rodriguez, will leave his position in the company from 1st September to face “new professional challenges”, as explained in the formal letter of resignation that the company itself has spread among its customers and suppliers.
As it says in the letter, signed by the president of the cooperative, Pedro Ruiz Garcia and David del Pino himself, “this decision will not affect in any way the strategic line being developed by the company.” It also explains the whole team of Granada La Palma S. Coop. And. are working together to make the transition from functions until the departure of the CEO, is done in the shortest time possible.
Similarly, through the aforementioned communique it shows gratitude to David del Pino for his 14 years of dedication to the company, wishing him luck in his future endeavors.
The present CEO of Granada La Palma was graduated in Agricultural Engineering and Plant Production in the University of Cordoba in the specialty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology. His academic training is complemented by the upper course of a Senior Management Program of Agrifood Companies by the Institute of San Telmo; a Master in Marketing and Sales Management of ESIC (Business and Marketing School), and a degree in Business Management in the Food Chain, by the Institute of San Telmo.
From its beginnings, his career has focused on foreign trade. So, at first, he worked as an coordinator engineer for the export phytosanitary protocol USDA (US Department of Agriculture) in Spain. He later goes on to develop quality control and port logistics at the US ports of destination of fruits. To complete his American adventure works as a sales executive of large accounts in the fruit and vegetable trade area of an American importer. On his return to Spain in 2002, he joined the cooperative Granada La Palma as commercial export, until he was appointed Director General in 2006.
Besides its activity as a manager in the food business, David del Pino unleashes another of his passions, as is the world of commerce, marketing, sociology and food, through his blog and occasionally pouring their views and experiences in articles that has written for e-Comercio Agrario (ECA).
