Bruñó presents its Melon Eco at Fruit Attraction
Bruñó will present the Melon Bruñó Eco Melon at the next Fruit Attraction fair in Madrid, a more sustainable variety for lovers of ecology. With an original stand of “La Melonería”, the assistants will be able to know at first hand his last innovative bet, with which he has wanted to recover the traditional flavors.
The company of production and distribution of high quality fruit Bruñó, located in Alcalá de Chivert (Castellón), will be from October 23 to 25 at Fruit Attraction, the International Fair of the Fruit and Vegetable Sector, with “La Melonería”, a platform created to house and communicate all the innovations that the company is carrying out around the melon.
During the fair, Melón Bruñó Eco will be presented, the ecological melon of great quality that is obtained through sustainable agriculture, respecting nature and its natural cycles. A product increasingly demanded and for which Bruño has made a strong bet in recent months. From the company they point out that “following the processes of ecological and social production, we obtain an ecological melon of the highest quality, with an intense and natural color, flavor and aroma that we can offer from mid-June to the end of October”. And they add that “with this variety we have recovered the traditional flavors without using in the phytosanitary cultivation processes or chemical fertilizers. Only then can we offer fruit of the best quality and with the least possible environmental impact. ”
In this regard, they explain that “we want to continue strengthening our position as a company at the forefront of innovation. Therefore, every day we bet to work in the whole process of the production chain, always looking for new varieties and using the most pioneering techniques of the market “. So far, the marketing of organic melons is carried out through supermarkets and specialized stores in the national market.
On the other hand, Bruñó bets on Fruit Attraction for the Black Watermelon without seeds, a variant of excellent quality that can be found from mid-February to the end of September. With a characteristic dark green and shiny skin and intense red pulp, this watermelon has a powerful and differentiated flavor. “Our challenge – they emphasize – is to continue working the fruit from before it is planted, following protocols of cultivation, harvesting, selection and packaging, to offer fresh products with the highest quality, color and flavor”.
Bruñó will have an original and striking stand, following the line of “La Melonería”, made with wood slats in green tone and wood, which aims to evoke the melon at its optimum ripeness point.
Bruñó and the constant search for innovation
Since 1977 Bruñó has been searching for the perfect melon. From its origins, Bruñó has been known for producing and offering high quality fruits to its customers, focusing on melon, watermelon and citrus fruits (clementine, tangerine and orange) and offering them throughout the year. Coinciding with Spanish spring and summer, the production of melon and watermelon is entirely Spanish. As of autumn, it moves to countries with tropical climates such as Brazil and Senegal, and thus achieve qualities very similar to those obtained in our country.
The company has achieved an increase of 5% of its total sales compared to the same campaign of the previous year. 60% of the product marketed by the company corresponds to the melon, fundamentally to the variety piel de sapo, and it directs to the export around 20%. Also, it allocates 50% of the watermelon production and 75% of the citrus production to the foreign market: Scandinavian countries, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy and Poland.
