Bridgestone presents its new premium agricultural tire VX-TRACTOR
Bridgestone, the world leader in the manufacture of tires and other rubber products, has presented its new agricultural tire in the premium segment, the VX-TRACTOR, at the New Holland campus located in Peñarrubias de Pirón (Segovia), with a series of field tests. It is a new product that offers more rubber in the bars, more traction and duration.
This new premium agricultural tire aimed at farmers who prioritize durability, traction and comfort, and which will reach the market in November with twelve initial measures all XL for medium and high power tractors.
The Chief of Agricultural Product of the Southeast Region of Bridgestone Europe, José Palomares, explained in these days of presentation that with this new product Bridgestone goes one step further in his commitment to farmers, expanding its range of premium agricultural tires. In this way it makes available to a large number of professionals in the field, all the advantages of its cutting-edge technology “. Specifically, this new model is aimed at farmers who prioritize above all the robustness, longer life, and duration of the tire. Advantages to which the greater traction capacity and comfort in driving are added.
After a first part, in which the presentation of the technical and technological characteristics of the new VX-Tractor was carried out, the Bridgestone technicians went on to demonstrate it with the field tests, highlighting “the superior performance of the VX -Tractor with respect to its main competitor in the same segment, in terms of rubber volume and traction “.
Up to 20% more rubber volume
The conclusions of the internal tests carried out in the presentation of its new VX-TRACTOR agricultural tire, which will be available to the most professional and demanding farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs since November, are “incontestable results”.
In general, the company highlighted the superior performance of the VX-TRACTOR compared to its main competitor in the same segment, in terms of rubber volume and traction.
Regarding the first aspect, the Bridgestone VX-TRACTOR benefits from the patented and proven “wrap-around bar” design in addition to containing a greater volume of rubber in its bars than its main competitor, which contributes to the improvement of The useful life of the tire. To prove it, Bridgestone measured the volume of the bars of its main competitor and compared it with that of its new tire in measures 600/70 R30 and 710/70 R42.
In the test, it was shown that the Bridgestone 600/70 R30 VX-TRACTOR tire has approximately 22% more rubber volume in its bars, and has a significantly higher bar height and width, as well as containing a bar more than its competitor in the same segment.
On the other hand, the Bridgestone 710/70 R42 VX-TRACTOR tire has up to 20% more rubber volume in its bars thanks to the greater length of the bar, its greater width and its greater height compared to its main competitor. The new VX-TRACTOR has a reinforced casing that allows a higher pressure of up to 2.4 bar resulting in the possibility of loading more weight on the tire and increasing its useful life.
In terms of traction, the objective of the test was to measure the traction capacity and the difference in percentage of skidding of the VX-TRACTOR and another premium tire competitor in its segment, from the distance traveled after a fixed number of cycles equal to the rear axle of both tractors. For this, two New Holland T7.275 Auto Command tractors were used with the same cultivator and working in the same field with the same configuration, equipped in identical conditions of inflation pressure with tires 600/70 R30 (1.3 bar) in front axle and 710/70 R42 (1.4 bar) on the rear axle, located in parallel in an exit position that allowed to measure and compare the distance traveled by both tractors after counting 15 turns of the rear tire.
The tractor equipped with competitive tires covered a distance of 70 meters, while the tractor equipped with VX-TRACTOR, under the same conditions, improved the result by 13% crossing a distance of 79 meters, results that could be checked on site by the attendees to the event. This means that the VX-TRACTOR allows the earth to work faster, thus saving time and fuel.
Made in Puente de San Miguel for all of Europe
The new VX-TRACTOR will be gradually launched on the market in 12 measures for medium and high power tractors, as José Palomares already said.
As detailed Palomares, “the new VX-TRACTOR comes to join the current tires Bridgestone VT-TRACTOR for high-power tractors and VT-COMBINE for cereal harvesters, which all benefit from the patented design of” wrap bar “. Unlike its predecessors, the reinforced casing of the new tire is not built with high bending technologies, but is designed to withstand higher inflation pressures. With this the Bridgestone brand has access to a greater number of professional farmers who are looking for the best tractor performance both on the road and in the field. The proven higher rubber volume of its bars also aims to provide a longer life and tire life to meet the high demand for hourly performance of farmers, “he concluded.
The VX TRACTOR, like the rest of Bridgestone’s agricultural tires, will be manufactured at the Puente de San Miguel factory that the company has in Cantabria and that supplies the entire European market.
The Bridgestone range of agricultural tires aims to strike a balance between increasing efficiency in agriculture and protecting the environment and helping farmers increase productivity in a sustainable manner.
