Bayer presented the first two certifications of the new module Add-Onde FoodChainPartnership
Fruit Attraction has been the venue chosen by the multinational Bayer to present the first two certifications of the new Add-Onde FoodChainPartnership module, which have been collected internationally by the Spanish producers Grufesa, specializing in berries, and PrimorFruit (citrus and stone fruit ).
This module has been designed by Bayer and is a complementary certification to the standard GLOBALG.A.P. IFA, which is based on sustainable agricultural practices to help producers to combine economic success of its activities with environmental and social responsibility.
The certification was awarded by an external body, which provides greater transparency, traceability and confidence in the process, helping to differentiate productions so that they can be elected first by buyers of distribution chains.
In fiscal 2015, the Bayer Group, which has around 117.000 employees, had a turnover of 46.300 million euros, made investments worth 2.600 million and 4.300 million euros allocated to R & D

Grufesa and Primor Fruit
Grufesa is located in Moguer (Huelva) and brings together 40 farmers with over 500 hectares of strawberry, which last year produced about 20.000 tons, representing about 7% of national production. Since 2010 collaborates with Bayer in its program PartnerChip Food Chain (FCP), and since then its commitment to sustainable agriculture has been constant.
According to Grufesa, last season 45% of its production was zero residue and the rest was below the Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs)
Meanwhile, PrimorFruit has an annual production of over 48.000 tons. One of the pillars of his philosophy is to adapt the varieties that produce to market needs and consumers. It applies to all research areas of action, including those related to the environment, cost management and optimization of all resources involved in the process.
