ASAJA Albacete mobilizes thousands of farmers and ranchers in defense of the rural environment, under the motto “No field, no life”
ASAJA Albacete has staged a demonstration in the capital of his province, on Thursday, April 6th, under the motto “No field, no life”, demanding measures to the regional and central administration to solve the very serious situation of the agrarian sector, including, among others, the declaration of Plague of the mountain rabbit and other species of big game, with measures to eradicate these pests; a plan of irrigation that guarantees the future of the exploitations and the wealth in the region: 1,500 hm3 for 500,000 has. to 20 years; that CAP aid should be more agile, consistent with rules and, above all, basic to the viability of farms: that the aid should not be delayed.
The concentration took place at 10:00 am at the Avd. de la Estación in the capital where hundreds of farmers and ranchers and 70 tractors throughout the province began the march from 11:00, with the following itinerary: Paseo de la Libertad, Plaza del Altozano, Marques de Molins, Tesifonte Gallego, where a stop was made at the Provincial Delegation of Agriculture to deliver the vindication table to the Administration and where no authority received the agrarian organization; Plaza de Gabriel Lodares, Avd. de España, where another copy of the claims was left in the Government Subdelegation and where the subdelegate of the Government received ASAJA Albacete, collecting said claims, concluding the march in the Fountain of the Park in the Plaza de Benjamín Palencia.
After the end of the tour, two manifestos were read, one by Cristina Cebrián to highlight the role of women in the sector and the other by Francisco Cambronero, which showed the great importance of young people in agriculture and livestock, concluding with the words of the Provincial Secretary, Jorge Navarro and the President of ASAJA Albacete, José Pérez Cuenca who thanked all those invited to attend the event, and then stressed the important role of young people in the sector.
