Aid from the CAP is processed until June 15
The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, welcomed the decision of the European Commission (EC) to extend until June 15 the deadline for submitting applications for CAP assistance. This will make it easier for farmers and ranchers to carry out this procedure.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food requested the EC, like Italy, to extend the period for applying for CAP aid, which was scheduled to end on April 30 and which Spain could extend until May 15, to that no farmer and rancher had difficulty presenting their unique application for the CAP of the year 2020, as a consequence of the restriction on the movement of people due to the recent declaration of the state of alarm for the management of the health crisis situation caused by COVID- 19.
Minister Planas has reiterated that the Government of Spain will implement all possible mechanisms and tools so that the beneficiaries of the CAP, in the current exceptional circumstance, can present their request for the CAP of the year 2020 with complete normality, in this case through a longer filing period.
