Agrifood Cooperatives of Spain claim aid for the surface of nuts

This decision will especially affect the dry land nut plantations, which account for 84% of the cultivated area.

The representatives of dried fruits have reiterated that this crop, due to its environmental, social and economic significance, have been considered strategic in Spanish agriculture and have highlighted the fundamental role of cooperatives in the same for its backbone.

All the representatives of the different producing areas have suffered the adverse weather conditions suffered in recent months, which have caused a delay in the campaign and changes in the collection schedules. The cooperative sector will propose to the rest of the member organizations of the National Dry Fruits Roundtable to delay the publication of the harvest forecast data until the month of June.
