Grupo Cajamar and ANICE sign an alliance to boost the competitiveness of the Spanish meat industry
The president of the National Association of Meat Industries of Spain (ANICE), Alberto Jiménez, and the president of Cajamar Caja Rural, Eduardo Baamonde, have signed a collaboration agreement to boost the competitiveness of the Spanish meat industry, offering financial solutions as they strengthen the internationalization, innovation, modernization and improvement of its more than 600 companies, from SMEs to large industrial groups that encompass all the activities of the meat sector chain: slaughterhouses and cutting rooms for pigs, cattle and sheep, factories of sausages and all kinds of processed, hams and Iberian products, among others.
ANICE is the business reference of the Spanish meat industry, and has partners in all the autonomous communities, which gives it its character and national representation. It brings together more than 600 companies from all over the national geography and all meat activities, with a majority representation of Spanish meat production.
The turnover of the companies associated with ANICE amounts to 14,855 million euros, which is more than 70% of the turnover of the Spanish meat sector (pork, beef and sheep-goat).
Its president, Alberto Jiménez, has pointed out that “our companies have to compete in increasingly difficult and competitive international environments, and at the same time they have to continue betting on innovation and development to respond to the demands of the consumer and the market, increasingly demanding. Therefore, we need financial and information and knowledge tools such as those contemplated in this agreement. ”
Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar is the first Spanish cooperative financial group and benchmark in the cooperative banking sector in our country. Eduardo Baamonde stressed that “from our Group we want to continue contributing to the Spanish meat sector continuing to enhance its presence both nationally and internationally, through the improvement in the production, processing and distribution of its products; technological innovation, internationalization and sustainable development “. And he added that “the Cajamar Group will accompany the association and its associated companies to confidently address the future challenges of the sector, putting at your disposal financial products and services tailored to your needs, as well as the Agrifood Innovation Service of Cajamar to address jointly analysis, studies and projects that are of interest to companies in the sector “.
Cajamar-ANICE barometer of the Spanish meat industry
“Barómetro Cajamar-ANICE of the Spanish meat industry”, which has a biannual character, becomes an instrument to measure the quality of the Spanish meat industry, from the point of view of companies, thus facilitating access to latest productive technologies and knowledge related to the trends of the meat market.
The constant support of Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar to the Spanish meat sector was once again relieved during the first edition of the Meat Attraction Fair, being the first and only financial group that was present at the fair, supporting the dissemination and debate of the sector.
The meat industry is the industrial sector of our country, only behind the automotive industry, the oil and fuel industry and the production and distribution of electricity. It is a sector formed by slaughterhouses, design rooms and elaboration industries, with an industrial fabric made up of almost 3,000 small and medium-sized companies. With this dimension, the meat industry occupies by far the first place in the entire Spanish food and beverage industry, representing a turnover of 23,998 million euros, more than 22.3% of the entire Spanish food sector, and exports of 6,085 million euros to countries around the world.
