EU wants to open new Asian markets
Agriculture Commissioner, Phil Hogan, drives the opening of new markets for Community production. Travels from 16 to 22 April to China and Japan with a delegation of businessmen from the European Union (EU). Its objectives include politically support the ongoing negotiations for the lifting of barriers that limit access to these markets and strengthening trade relations.
José Gandia, president of the SAT ROYAL, and also chairman of FEPEX Marketing, EUCOFEL member, is part of the delegation of the commissioner.
The opening of the Chinese market is of strategic importance for the Spanish, pending the immediate signing of the protocol of phytosanitary requirements for Spanish exports of peach, nectarine, plum and Paraguayan sector. By signing the protocol Spain is practically the first country to access this market in peach, nectarine and Paraguay. In plum imports are limited to those from Chile and the United States.
For FEPEX is of fundamental importance the support of the Commission in trade negotiations for opening new markets, given the increasing saturation of the Community market which virtually unrestricted access productions from all backgrounds.
