Cajamar and CASI team up to train the agricultural entrepreneurs of the future
The president of CASI, Miguel Vargas, and the vice president of Cajamar, José Luis Heredia, have closed a new call for the ADN Agro-Food Training Program, promoted by Cajamar and in which some thirty young members of the cooperative company have participated Almeria leader in the export of tomato.
During the awarding of diplomas, both Miguel Vargas and José Luis Heredia highlighted the need to continue advancing in the professionalization of the sector and training in new skills and abilities in an increasingly competitive environment and subject to a profound transformation, consequence of the impact of digitization on the rules of the game of the global economy.
The training sessions developed over the last three weeks are framed within the so-called ‘Future Program’ of the ‘Cajamar Agrofood School’, aimed at training young entrepreneurs in the sector in innovative business performance techniques and stimulate their growth potential.
The curriculum, with an eminently practical approach, which has been taught by executives of leading companies, experts from different universities, marketing professionals and agro-food R & D and specialists in innovation and training of Cajamar, focuses on strategic issues such as the current market situation, the analysis of investments, the design and marketing of new products and services, the paradigm of agroindustry 4.0, the decision-making process and the management of equipment. Likewise, students and professors have created an environment for reflection and debate about the future of the sector and the role that each agricultural entrepreneur must exercise in order to achieve their goals.
In addition to the five face-to-face knowledge modules, the training program included a study trip to learn first-hand success stories in the associative management of production, marketing and distribution of food.
More than 20 years training the sector
The technical and professional training occupies a prominent place in the model of innovation and agro-food transfer of the Cooperative Social Fund of Cajamar, connecting the knowledge generated in the technological and research centers with the productive fabric, and making available to farmers, technicians and entrepreneurs new tools for the generation of value.
