About 20,000 immigrants will benefit from the employment agreement between AVA-ASAJA and the Embassy of Ecuador
Ecuadorian ambassador Miguel Calahorrano and the president of the agrarian organization AVA-ASAJA, Cristóbal Aguado, have signed a collaboration agreement to facilitate training in agrarian matters and employment in this sector of the Ecuadorian population residing in the Valencian Community. This agreement is estimated to benefit some 20,000 immigrants of the 41,000 from that country currently living in Valencia.
This collaboration seeks to facilitate the agricultural training of Ecuadorian immigrants in the Valencian Community to improve their professional qualifications and contribute to their integration into the agricultural labor market
Under the aforementioned agreement, AVA-ASAJA and the Embassy of Ecuador undertake to articulate all the mechanisms that allow establishing a framework of cooperation in matters such as knowledge, training, access to the job market and integration of citizens of Ecuador living in the provinces of Valencia and Castellón.
The Ecuadorian community in the Comunitat Valenciana is made up of about 41,000 people, of whom almost half provide their services in the agricultural sector
This circumstance, therefore, converts about 20,000 immigrants from Ecuador into potential beneficiaries of the agreement reached between the authorities of that country and AVA-ASAJA.
Ambassador Miguel Calahorrano said after the signing of the agreement that “the establishment of this type of collaboration is very important for us because the unemployment rate among our citizens residing in Spain is 32%, while 18% of Jobs they play is seasonal. Therefore, this kind of tools are extremely valuable when it comes to finding work and also the knowledge acquired will take them to our country when they return. ” Ecuador’s top authority in Spain thanked “the enormous sensitivity and attitude shown by AVA-ASAJA”.
For his part, the president of the agrarian organization stated that “facilitating training, integration and coexistence has always been a fundamental issue for us and with agreements like this we reaffirm our commitment. We have been a pioneer in this area and we want to remain so. ”
The agreement includes training courses and activities in disciplines as diverse as cultivation techniques, safety at work, sustainable use of phytosanitary products or Internet management and new technologies
