Tradecorp and Agrofuser finance the first interactive paddy field for tourists
Tradecorp and its distributor in Tarragona, Agrofuser, have financed and maintain the first rice field destined, not to agricultural production, but to the use and experimentation of tourists and that is located in the town of Sant Jaume d’Enveja, in the Terres region of l’Ebre.
This initiative tries to bring visitors the traditional way of growing rice and is open all year round to know each of the stages of the crop.
The rice-museum lives its most intense days throughout the month of June when the “Festa de la Plantada” (Celebration of the Plantation) is celebrated throughout the region, the Plantation Festival, a day where the older farmers show how they worked and rice was planted before the use of machinery and visitors are allowed to practice this form of cultivation.
The “Festa de la planted” gathers every weekend in a different locality of the Terres de l’Ebre region to neighbors and visitors. This is the celebration of the towns of Amposta, l’Aldea, l’Ampolla, Deltebre, Escapades and Sant Jaume d’Enveja, where the rice-museum is located
In addition to agricultural activities, the plantation party is celebrated in each locality with recreational activities such as traditional music from Terres de l’Ebre, jota danced, popular dinner, theater, traditional games and improvised jota singing competition.
For Jorge Aguilar, marketing director of Tradecorp biostimulants, “Our participation has come hand in hand with our distributor Agrofuser. However, when the project was proposed to us, it seemed to be a very interesting idea because it involves bringing any visitor to the production of a food as universal as rice. We are very proud to have allowed our contribution to create an environment of free access to publicize the work of rice producers. ”
For his part, Paco Sales, councilor of the municipality of Sant Jaume d’Enveja recognizes that “without the contribution of the company this initiative could not have been carried out. In addition every year we incorporate news. On this occasion we have planted up to five different types of rice so that the visitor can know the differences. “
