Thirteen thousand visitors from every continent in ExpoEspeciales 2015, Latin American Coffee Fair

Fair largest specialty coffee in Colombia, Latin America and the Caribbean, concluded last weekend in Corferias, establishing itself once again as the number one platform for the Colombian coffee industry.

With visitors from the United States, Australia, Canada, China, Azerbaijan, South Korea, Finland, Netherlands and the UK, around 600 appointments left business expectations by $ 7.2 million during the business conference organized achieved by FNC and ProColombia.

An inclusive and participatory coffee production was the key message of the Fourth International Coffee Convention Women

The challenges and opportunities for the coffee produced by women in Asian markets, European and American views on the global industry, the impact of the coffee produced by women in the development of their communities and the role of women in the value chain coffee, were some of the topics discussed by the more than 300 women representatives from 30 countries to the International Convention IV Coffee Women was held under ExpoEspeciales Coffee Colombia.

New national champions Cupping and Barista

In the V National Championship Tasters, 111 tasters were enrolled (37% compared to 81 last year) among coffee growers, exporters, instructors Seine departmental committees and associations of producers of Colombia.

Popayan, the capital of Cauca, Manuel Peña, is the new National Champion cupping. Also worth noting that the second and third place was taken by Daniel Enrique Morales and Evelio Bogotá and Nariño Audidas respectively.

Moreover, thanks to its skill and creativity in their preparations extensive knowledge about coffee, Mauricio Romero was elected as the new Colombian Barista Champion. Coffee representing Azahar, this Bogota took first place with their preparations (four espressos, four cappuccinos and four signature drinks or designed to cocoa and honey), that convinced the judges of X Campeonato Barista.
