The Ministry of Agriculture awarded the prize “Best Food of Spain Cheese 2015”

The awards, whose decision will be published shortly in the Official Gazette, aim to promote and raise awareness of Spanish cheeses, which have a great organoleptic quality and encourage producers to develop and market these products.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment has awarded prizes to the best cheeses in 2015 in their ranks, as well as the award “Best Food of Spain Cheese 2015”.

The awards, whose decision will be published shortly in the Official Gazette, aim to promote and raise awareness of Spanish cheeses, which have a great organoleptic quality and encourage producers to develop and market these products.

The awards are divided into five categories: Cheese ripened cow, sheep ripened cheeses, ripened goat cheese, ripened cheese mixture and mold-ripened cheese or blue cheese, in addition to the award given to Spain Food Award for Best Cheese year 2015.

In this edition they have been awarded:

Ripened cow cheese: Cheese Don Crisanto, Cheese Don Crisanto SAT, Vilalba (Lugo)

Matured sheep’s cheese: Cheese Otatza, Joseba Cheese Insausti, Ordizia (Guipúzcoa)

Matured goat cheese: Cheese Acehucheño, Quesería The Acehucheño, SL, of Acehuche (Caceres)

Mix cheeses matured: Cheese Abbess, Queserías Entrepinares SAU, Valladolid.

Mold ripened cheese or blue cheese: Cheese mallets, Cheese Angel Diaz Herrero, of Tielves-Cabrales (Asturias).

Spain Food Award for Best Cheese 2015: Otatza Cheese, Cheese Joseba Insausti, Ordizia (Guipúzcoa).
