The fruit and vegetable cooperative Group, the race against childhood cancer

The cooperative of fruits and vegetables The Group, in the town of Granada Castell de Ferro, will hold this Saturday July 30th the third edition of its career under the slogan “We run Cancer infatil”, which will bring together more than 300 athletes and where will participate Fermin Cacho, champion in 1.500 meters at the Barcelona Olympics of 1992. Proceeds of registration (3 € for all categories) will be donated to the Spanish Federation of Parents of Children with Cancer.

With a distance of 12 kilometers, this test is part of sports and recreational activities organized by the fruits and vegetables cooperative with more than 350 members, during its annual Day of Coexistence.

Among the registered participants include well-known athletes in the popular racing circuits, as is the case of Jaen, Jose Javier Olea Gómez, winner of the previous edition, plus runners and athletics clubs granadinos Andalusians.

As the president of the Group Fulgencio Torres has highlighted, “this sporting event is aimed at promoting healthy habits and consumption of foods that contribute to a good quality of life. Within our social responsibility as a cooperative, we wanted to put our little grain of sand in the fight against childhood cancer, collaborating with this association that makes a great social work “.

In the organization of the test are involved Cruzando la Meta, with the cooperation of the City of Gualchos-Castell de Ferro, Única Group, Agro-Food Cooperatives of Granada, U.D. Castell, D.C. Castell Cyclist, Treatments High Resolution Sergio Climent, Semilleros Saliplant, Sapiens Human and Seminis. The Olympic athlete Martin Fiz and sports journalists as Paco Gonzalez (Radio COPE), Tomas Guasch (Marca) and Susana Guasch (ATRESMEDIA) have collaborated in disseminating this activity, sharing their solidarity.

Race data

The route will have its start at 9.30 am at the headquarters of the cooperative, with a distance of 12.5 km at senior level. Those interested can register until Friday morning at 15 hours on the premises of the cooperative in Castell de Ferro, via online throug the web www.cruzandolameta.es or www.elgrupo-sca.com.
