June 30, 2015
The National Bureau of Nuts, composed of Agro-food agricultural organizations ASAJA, COAG and UPA, Cooperative of Spain and the Spanish Association of Producers Organisations Nuts and locust beans (AEOFRUSE), made the estimated production of almond, which has resulted in an estimate of 52 473 tonnes of grain almond.
Good harvest in general, with an increase in production of 6.62% compared to the harvest of last season. Overall, there are good prospects due to the absence of significant frost and good weather conditions during the flowering-fruit set. However, the decline in production in Aragon and Catalonia is confirmed mainly because moniliosis problems caused by rains that took place the last week of March, which affected flowering almond curd and incipient state of exhaustion the trees dry.
However, because last year some areas were particularly affected by drought, it has lost productive potential.
