Spain Food Awards 2016 are betting on innovation and participation of youth and women
The call 2016 of the “Food Awards of Spain”, published by the Ministry of agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA) in the Official Gazette (BOE), will continue to pursue innovation and valuable and recognizable youth and women participation in agribusiness, keeping the Accésit “Food of Spain to Entrepreneurship”, a novelty introduced in the previous edition.
In addition to recognizing the application of new ideas by agribusiness industries less than 10 years trajectory and incorporating youth or women to their activity, this edition will also keep the “Food of Spain Award to Production Fisheries and Aquaculture”, created in 2014, whose purpose is to help promote these products and improve their image and market position.
To do business or career it will be valued associative and socio-economic relevance or the innovative nature of the product. This prize will be eligible fishery products caught by vessels belonging to the Census operational fishing fleet, aquaculture facilities and natural or legal persons exercising its marketing or transforming activity, whose head office within the national territory.
Other modalities of these awards are “Food Industry”, “Restoration,” “Organic Production”, “communication”, “Food Internationalization” and “Food Extraordinary Prize of Spain.”
These awards, which began to be granted in 1987, aims to promote and stimulate the different elements of the food chain in the production, processing, use, knowledge and consumption of these foods as well as recognize their marketer effort, innovative rural development and care for the environment, food processing and quality.
In this call are not collected, however, awards for “Best Cheese”, “Best olive oil extra virgin”, “Best Wine”, “Best Ham”, the latter newly created by having calls depending on the product themselves.
