Sant Miquel Fair 2015 shows a more dynamic agricultural sector
One of the main innovations of the 61st edition of the Agricultural Fair of Sant Miquel (National Exhibition of Agricultural Machinery) and the 30th edition of Eurofruit (Professional Exhibition for Fruit Industry) events taking place from 24 to 27 September in the Lleida fairgrounds, is the creation of a specific space for the drones. This space will include an exhibition area and a zone of flights and will be complemented by the holding of technical seminars. Irrigation Island, a theme centered space irrigation and irrigation communities is also reinforced. Also this year a greater presence of growers from Spain and France, working in the production of stone and pome fruit, almonds and truffle sector is recorded.
Àngel Ros, Mayor of Lleida and President of the Board of the Fira de Lleida, said that the growth of certain sectors of the Fair of San Miquel, such as finance, “is an indication that there is some economic recovery and there projects future “and has used the event to announce the organization of an economic mission Lleida, next year, will travel to the International Agriculture Fair SIAM, agricultural Morocco benchmark show that April is celebrated in the city of Meknes. Enric Mir, Deputy of Economic Promotion of the Provincial Council of Lleida, stressed the support of his institution to the food sector, “one of the most powerful of our demarcation” and that in the case of the Feria de San Miguel is reflected in the food sample and culinary “Food Planning and You”. The large international trade fair event host this year 325 direct exhibitors spread over gross exhibition area of 64,000 m2, representing the full occupancy of the premises. As for the program of activities, one of the main added values of the Agricultural Fair of Sant Miquel, will offer 64 proposals, including 36 technical sessions, 4 professional meetings and 24 conference activities “Food Planning and You”.
The program also includes two classic awards, the 44th Agricultural Book Award and the 19th Award for Technological Innovation and Safety of Agricultural Machinery Design. The opening of the Fair of San Miquel and lounge Eurofruit will take place on Thursday, September 24, at 11 pm in the Crystal Palace Fira de Lleida, and borne by Isabel García Tejerina, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Environment. The closing will take place on the 27th, at 17:30, under the chairmanship of Ángel Ros, Mayor of Lleida. The two halls will be open from 10 to 20 h.
