Sales of beef grew by 3.1%
According to the National Service of Quality and Animal Health (Senacsa) of Paraguay, this increase in the quantity of meat was exported at a lower price. In fact, from January to March the country Paraguay meat shipments totaled 56,932 tons and the average export price was $ 4,268 per ton, 3.3% lower than the average for the same period last year.
To improve these digits, from the Rural Association of Paraguay (ARP) and the Ministry of Agriculture in this country has created an interagency commission in order to improve the export position in the sector of beef from the South American country. Today Paraguay is the sixth largest exporter of beef and the aim is that by 2018 one livestock 17.5 million head is reached and thus achieve increase meat exports to become the world’s fifth largest exporter.
On the other hand, with the publication of Regulation (EU) No 604/2015 on animal health requirements for bovine tuberculosis contained in the models of veterinary certificates Israel, New Zealand and Paraguay, has authorized these countries to resume their exports beef meat to the European Union.
