Next Thursday, January 26th, at 10.00h, the Ifeja facilities in Jáen will host a new debate on the olive sector, promoted by EXPOLIVA, XVIII International Fair of Oil and Allied Industries, which will be held from 10th to 13th May this year.
This debate will be based on a program of interventions that, as usual, will have the participation of speakers of first level that will provide their particular version of the evolution that has had the olive oil sector in recent years.
Over the last 15 years, 1.7 million hectares of olive trees have been planted on the planet, equivalent to 154,000 hectares per year, three times the area planted by olive trees in the United States, per year
The tremendous evolution undergone by the cultivation of olive trees is manifested in the fact that every second, during the said period, 10 olive trees have been cultivated additionally, or what is the same, 600 per minute. Therefore, we are dealing with a particularly dynamic sector whose large family is made up of 56 countries, as present, producers of olive oil, and 174 consumers.
The enormous dynamism that characterizes this sector arises the need to know strategically its transformation and advances during the last years. An opportunity, offered by the EXPOLIVA Dialogues, where its attendees will be able to listen to the reflections of those who are among the most accredited voices of the sector of the last 50 years, whose experience is fundamental to understand where it is headed. Likewise, the part of the enterprise, represented by the second table, in which freshness and talent are combined, will also be taken into account.
The EXPOLIVA Dialogues are aimed at olive and olive growers, general managers, students, mill owners, professional organizations, engineers, agronomists, distributors, traders, farmers and the business sector in general, which are active in olive oil and related industries such as machinery, irrigation systems, phytosanitary, among others, or any other person who feels interest in knowing, learning and interacting.
A reference fair
280 exhibitors, more than 31 thousand meters occupied, a new exhibition area, 48,890 professional visitors, 31 exhibiting companies, 3,353 international professionals from 40 different countries visited this biennial fair in 2015, which represented an increase of 300% to 2011. The latest edition of EXPOLIVA was covered by 113 media outlets, with a total of 378 national and international journalists.
