The International Menendez Pelayo University organizes the first Summer Course on Cultivating the Almond and Pistachio, in collaboration with the University of Zaragoza and its headquaters in Huesca. The level of the speakers and topics make this course a must for the sector of nuts.
In recent years, factors such as product price, the development of models of mechanized cultivation and other agronomic and commercial factors have been channeling the interest of farmers to crops almond and pistachio, as more profitable to more traditional alternatives.
Changes in new plantings, as a result of developments that in recent years has been experiencing the production model, developed in a more modernized environment, raises new questions and changes the perception of cultivation by farmers.
With this conference aims to show the techniques responsible of technological change and study the conditions that can be applied, analyzing both the current and future situation of the product.
The presentations of the program will be developed by world-renowned experts, advisors and farmers who represent the new crop situations. In addition to these interventions is scheduled for September 7 visits to the estate of almond of high density “More than Felis” La Granja d’Escarp (Lleida) and semi intensive almond farm “Finca del Moro” Mequinenza (Zaragoza).
