New Technologies for increasing quality will star the FRUTIC Symposium previous to FRUIT LOGISTICS
The 25th edition of FRUIT LOGÍSTICA, which will be held from February 8th to 10th, 2017, will have, for the first time, its anteroom, on February 7th, with the International Symposium FRUTIC. With its more than 50 scientific papers, it offers a perfect platform for the exchange between experts in science and in the sector of fruits and vegetables. Its core themes will be innovations and new technologies to guarantee the quality and safety of fruits and vegetables.
The international scientific convention is aligned for the first time with the International trade fair for fresh produce, FRUIT LOGISTICA, with the celebration on its eve of FRUTIC
The quality and safety of the fresh produce of the orchard will focus the 10th FRUTIC International Symposium, to be held at the CityCube Berlin. This event will be attended by international speakers such as Hidemi Izumi from Kindai University (Japan), María Isabel Gil from the Spanish National Research Council Murcia (Spain) and Christopher Watkins from Cornell University (USA).
The topics to be covered include technological developments in production, harvesting and postharvest, but also the quality control of fruits, vegetables and nuts.
Reference will be made, among other subjects, to the influence of Pre-harvest conditions on product quality, non-destructive methods for determining the quality and post-harvest treatment of fruits and vegetables
It will also touch on the subject of innovative concepts of storage and packaging, with, for example, new control procedures and a project based on mathematical
optimization of packaging and storage systems.
In the area of product safety, the agenda of this Symposium has included the most advanced technologies for fresh cut products and the use of plasma-based decontamination processes
Likewise, in the framework of the Forum of Fresh Products and the Future Lab, scientists will present their topics in the three days of celebration of FRUIT LOGISTICA.
FRUTIC not only offers a platform for the intensive and specialized exchange between science and practice on current trends and new developments. It is also a matter of detecting where there is a need for research in the sector.
This Symposium is organized by the Leibniz-Institut für Agrartechnik und Bioökonomie e.V. (Germany) in collaboration with the Università degli Studi di Foggia (Italy). FRUIT LOGISTICA is a partner.
FRUTIC has been developed through a series of international scientific symposiums. The first conference took place in Israel in 1983. Over the years, this event has become an important platform for the development and application of technologies in the production of fruits, vegetables and nuts, bringing together leading scientists from around the world . With this new location, the representatives of the sector will also be approached.
