New Holland receives 6 prizes in the FIMA 2020 Technical News competition
New Holland has been awarded this time with 2 awards as Outstanding Novelty and another 4 as Technical Novelty. The awards were collected at the gala held at the Zaragoza Conference Center on February 26 by Riccardo Angelini, Managing Director New Holland Spain and New Holland Vice President Sean Lennon. The characteristics and innovations that have stood out and have been so well valued by the jury are as follows:
INTERMEDIATE SMARTSHIFTTM BOX FOR STARTING A HIGH DENSITY MACROPACKER – TECHNICAL NEW
OUTSTANDING
Transmission of movement from the PTO includes the SmartShift ™ intermediate box: with two-speed start, overload protection and intelligent brake system, the large-diameter flywheel: spins at high speed (1440 rev / min). Two gears give movement to the 48 rev / min output shaft with arms that extend the piston stroke to 748 mm.
In the starting process, the tractor PTO is connected and adjusted to 850 rev / min and the starting process is activated from the monitor. The SmartShift ™ box smoothly engages 1st gear and then engages 2nd gear. Finally, the operator receives a message on the monitor to set the tractor PTO to 1000 rev / min; at that time the steering wheel
will reach 1440 rev / min.
MULTI-PLATFORM DATA ACCESSIBILITY – OUTSTANDING TECHNICAL FEATURE (CASE IH, John Deere, Claas and New Holland suite)
Thanks to the manufacturer’s independent interface 365FarmNet, the farmer can seamlessly connect the CNHI, CLAAS, John Deere and 365FarmNet data portals and take full advantage of the potential of having a large fleet of machines. The data related to the different machines and the agronomic data are unified in a single portal, thus achieving a standard solution available to any user.
DataConnect is the first “cloud to cloud” interface created by an independent manufacturer. This information includes current and previous years’ information about the fuel level in the tractor tank, the speed of the machine, or the progress of the work you are doing. In the future, this agronomic data will help the user to improve planning and to quickly verify if it is being met. DataConnect therefore forms the basis of a new industry standard. To this end, coordination through AEF will be actively applied.
PNEUTRAC TERRAGLIDE AND PNEUMATIC FRONT AXLE SUSPENSION FOR COMPACT TRACTORS – TECHNICAL NEW
New Terraglide suspended front axle mounted on the T4 Specialty tractor series, providing greater day-to-day productivity, transport safety and exceptional comfort. This suspended front axle has been developed for customers working on difficult terrain and hills, customers or service companies engaged in spraying plant protection products and
want the greatest driving comfort as they are likely to do over 1000 hours of work a year. If we add to all this the new Pneutrac tires, which manage to unify in a single product the best of traditional tires and tracks, the result is a surprising work package.
MACRO-PACKER CONTROL SYSTEM FOR DAMPING LONGITUDINAL VIBRATIONS WITH T7 TRACTORS – TECHNICAL NEW
Balers for large prismatic bales allow a high density of transport and storage of plant material, so they have become very important in agriculture. However, due to high inertia and pressure forces, they induce vibrations that subject the tractor cab to unpleasantly strong pitching movements that put pressure on the driver. The T7 Series tractors detect that a baler is attached and activates the “baler” mode which manages the suspension control of the front axle, modifying the stiffness based on the compression of the product in the baler. This prevents oscillation of the tractor-implement assembly, reducing cab movement by an average of 15%, increasing comfort and decreasing operator fatigue.
LOOPMASTERTM DOUBLE KNOT SYSTEM FOR BALE TIEING IN A BIG BALER PACKER – TECHNICAL NEW
The loop knotting process eliminates cuttings that are loose in the bale and in the field (reduces the environmental impact): in 10,000 bales produced, it is estimated that 6 kilometers of cuttings are removed per season, which normally contaminate the soil and product. LoopMaster ™ allows knots to withstand 15% more tension, resulting in efficient packaging and a significant productivity benefit. Plus, it reduces expense by requiring less rope for the same number of bales. Significantly reduces the risk of the rope becoming
break or the knots untie with the high density of the phere and less tension during knotting.
AGXTEND TERMINAL – ISOMAX TO ADAPT OLD IMPLEMENTS TO THE ISOBUS SYSTEM – TECHNICAL NEWS
The ISOBUS connection to interconnect agricultural machines with one another tends to facilitate adoption as a world standard. The fully certified system by AEF (Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation) is universal, complete and includes all the elements, including the connector and ECU. You can operate through any ISOBUS terminal.
As such, it allows owners of older implements to adapt them with technology and connect them to the ISOBUS system of the tractor. All the computer programs and their configurations are free communication “open source”. Makes the system compatible with all brands. This Development Kit is based on the programming of an ESP32 control unit that uses a 32-bit system with all the necessary interfaces for configuration and makes it possible for any client to start using it directly
