New FEGA President and Director General of Rural Development and Forest Policy
The Council of Ministers has recently approved, at the proposal of Minister Isabel García Tejerina, the appointment of Esperanza de Orellana Moraleda, as the new Director General for Rural Development and Forest Policy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment (MAPAMA) and Miguel Angel Riesgo Pablo, as President of the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA).
With a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Madrid and as a member of the National Veterinary Corps since 1987, Esperanza de Orellana has held the position of Deputy Director General of Food Promotion to the General Directorate of the Food Industry of the Ministry.
Previously, she had held the post of Assistant General Manager of Products Cattle ranchers, a position she agreed to perform as Deputy Director of Foreign Markets and Pork, Poultry and Other Productions, where she worked, among other tasks, in the negotiation of agreements to open markets in third countries.
She has also worked in the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA), in tasks of regulating agricultural markets and managing the direct livestock aid
For his part, the new President of the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA), Miguel Angel Riesgo, holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and he’s an official of the National Veterinary Corps. He had been the Deputy Director General of Direct Aid in FEGA, working in the field of direct aid and the implementation of the Management System with the Autonomous Communities.
Previously, he had held the post of Deputy Director General for Market Regulation at FEGA and had worked as Area Coordinator in the Analysis, Prospecting and Coordination Subdirectorate at the Subsecretariat of the Ministry and as head of Section in Livestock Records.
