Other new equipment leading the Massey Ferguson advancement include a new CornFlow maize head for MF combine harvester models, new material handling tools, new Precision Agriculture packages and a new prototype link solution for tractor / Award-winning tool from the Massey Ferguson Research Team.
The agricultural machinery firm has also presented some of the results of its work with two other leading companies in France, Michelin and Grégoire Besson, on reducing soil compaction and improving traction in hard field conditions
“The significant investment in new products demonstrates our strategic commitment to provide a full range of MF equipment to meet the needs of each farmer,” said Thierry Lhotte, Massey Ferguson vice president and general manager for Europe and the Middle East. “The full line approach strengthens our business and strengthens the dealer network, further enhancing our customer service and support. Our full range of products creates a solid framework to achieve our ambition to establish that Massey Ferguson is the choice of farmers around the world”, he added.
Thierry Lhotte: “We are giving new impetus to our customer relationship development and distribution network by actively working with our distributors and dealers in Europe to ensure greater availability of Massey Ferguson’s unique operational and technical expertise”
“Our solid presence at SIMA confirms the full reach of the MF brand’s product and service offering”, said Thierry Lhotte. “The tremendous strength and breadth of the renowned Massey Ferguson brand offers the highest levels of customer service to help farmers develop and maintain profitable business“.
Massey Ferguson Highlights at SIMA
Among its main innovations in tractors is to highlight the debut of the improved MF 8700 series, with six models that heads the new MF 8740 of 400CV
With maximum powers of 270CV at 400CV, they combine an unmatched power / weight ratio and excellent agility with great power and strength. All MF 8700 Series tractors are also equipped with Massey Ferguson’s new, state-of-the-art datatronic 5 terminal with full automatic steering and a powerful set of precision agriculture products that build a mapping system , Automatic section control, record keeping and comprehensive monitoring of machinery with telemetry. Other detailed changes improve productivity and increase operator comfort and safety.
The range of MF Corn Heads has been presented in harvesting machinery, which offers a high capacity for faster harvesting and exceptional yield in placed crops, with reduced head and ear losses.
Eight new MF Corn Heads offer a choice of rigid and folding four- and six-row models with 70- or 75-cm separations and specifically designed for use with MF Activa, MF Activa S, MF Beta and MF Centora combine harvesters
In hay and forage tools, the new Massey Ferguson range has been the first in SIMA to offer a wide range of lawnmowers, mowers-crushers, rakes and high-efficiency tedder rakes.
SIMA has also served the first public exhibition of the new generation of MF F front loader range, which is capable of handling the most demanding tasks and is available with an advanced cabin terminal that includes dynamic weighing. Three new loader blades join the range to adapt to the developments of tractors, with a total of 20 self-leveling and non-self-leveling models, suitable for use with tractors from 60CV to 300CV.
In the International Salon of Agricultural Machinery has also made its debut the new series of telescopes MF TH, which includes models for all types of requirements, from the semicompacta MF TH.6030, ideal to work in confined spaces or the MF TH.7030, of high capacity, to raise the heaviest and dense bales. All offer quick and efficient cycles for loading as well as power for towing with load.
The four new models offer lifting capacities from 3 tonnes to 3.8 tonnes with lifting heights from 6m to 7m. All are equipped with hydrostatic transmission and are powered by a 3.4 liter four-cylinder Doosan engine, which develops 100CV in MF TH.6030 and MF TH.7030 and 130 hp in MF TH.6534 and MF TH 7038. All models have three selectable steering modes, two steering wheels, four steering wheels and crab, to provide optimum maneuverability in all working conditions.
Another interesting new feature of Massey Ferguson at SIMA is the launch of the new Visioline roof option for its Global Series tractors, which further enhances its visibility, safety and efficiency while handling loads.
The Massey Ferguson Global Series is the first range of tractors recently developed and specifically for the demanding multipurpose sector from 60 to 130CV
In addition to providing the most advanced features in its class, the tractors are made using the most modern manufacturing technology and digital design.
6700S Series Debut
The new MF 6700 S series includes the first four-cylinder 200 hp tractor, the MF 6718S, unveiled along with the other five new models in the series at SIMA Paris.
A powerful and compact engine, a wheelbase of 2.67m and a turning radius of 7.75m make the MF 6718 S the most maneuverable tractor of 200 hp. With an exceptional power / weight ratio, the tractor combines the best performance with optimum efficiency
Light and agile for load operations, the tractors of the MF 6700 series also provide strength, hydraulic power and load capacity for demanding fieldwork.
The six new models of the MF 6700 S series are powered by the latest models of four-cylinder AGCO Power engines of 4.9 liters. This generates maximum power of 120 hp at 175 hp, with engine power management (EPM), generating extra power in all models up to 200 hp, in the case of the most powerful, the MF 6718 S.
SIMA also welcomed the presentation of the results of traction tests carried out by Massey Ferguson, Grégoire-Besson and Michelin, in order to demonstrate the potential to reduce soil compaction and increase traction by combining a Grégoire- Besson, pulled by an MF 8730 tractor and equipped with the new Michelin VF650 / 80R42 AxioBib 2 tires with Michelin Ultraflex technology.
Newly designed Michelin tires have been specially developed to allow the use of large high power tractors, such as MF, to plow in the furrow
Large diameter tires (2.15 m), operating at a pressure of only 0.8 bar, place three full legs on the ground, creating a 26% longer footprint with a 25% greater surface area than the previous designs . At the same time, this larger ground contact surface increases traction by up to + 28% and reduces wheel slip by up to a third, in addition to saving fuel.
SIMA innovation award for its superior link control
Massey Ferguson has received a special mention at the SIMA Innovation Awards for its new and unique electronic top link control system, which automatically maintains the correct working angle of the assembled implements.
The Top-Link Automation Hydraulics is Massey Ferguson’s latest innovation, which invented the three-point link and pioneered Electronic Linkage Control (ELC)
The new system uses the latest sophisticated control techniques to provide a direct and dynamic upper link adjustment that improves implement and tractor performance. At the same time, the work quality of the articulated mounting application and shooting equipment will be improved.
