Fruit Logistica introduces the nominees for the Innovation Award 2016

The most coveted award in the fresh produce industry will be awarded in Berlin on 5 February 2016. On 3 and 4 February 2016, more than 65,000 trade visitors from over 135 countries will vote for Innovation of the Year. Spain achieved representation in the eleventh edition of FLIA 2016 thanks to the Coconut Genuine nomination.

The most coveted award in the fresh produce industry will be awarded in Berlin on 5 February 2016. On 3 and 4 February 2016, more than 65,000 trade visitors from over 135 countries will vote for Innovation of the Year. Spain achieved representation in the eleventh edition of FLIA 2016 thanks to the Coconut Genuine nomination.

Nominees for the FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award (FLIA) 2016 have been confirmed. The ten innovations will be presented at FRUIT LOGISTICA 2016 (from 3 to 5 February 2016) in a special exhibition between Halls 20 and 21. There, the winner will be announced on February 5, 2016 at 14:30.

After several years without any Spanish-speaking company among the nominees, this year the representation of Spanish-speaking markets is guaranteed after confirming the nomination of the Spanish company Genuine Coconut, who is participating for the first time in the contest.

What is unique about the FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award? More than 65,000 trade visitors from over 135 countries cast their votes during the first two days of the fair. These votes will determine the Innovation of the Year. A panel of experts representing every segment of the industry has selected ten finalists from among 60 nominations:

“Automato” – Stoffels, Belgium.A dispenser for the point of sale: different varieties of cherry tomatoes are dispensed from three boxes directly to your shopping bag.

“Bejeweled” – Terra Natura International, Unique Holland: a pepper to yellow and red stripes.

“Genuine Coconut” – World’s Coconut Trading, Spain. Simple delight: organic coconut with a patented opening to drink with a straw.
