Immersed in the initial phase of the season and with a production forecast of more than 80,000 tons of strawberry, Fresón de Palos faces the new campaign with optimism given the good agronomic development of the plants and the entry into production of the earliest varieties.
“The development of the plantations is being satisfactory, resulting in a high quality fruit in this first phase of the season that we hope will remain for the rest of the months,” they say from the cooperative, which despite a warmer winter in relation to to previous years, it does not perceive a precocity especially excessive in the sector. “The important volumes will presumably arrive on the usual dates, and that is when we will check the receptivity of the markets in this new 2020 season.”
Beyond the strawberry, and in relation to the berries, the diversification mix of the firm is based on a sustained growth that corresponds to the real development of the consumption of these products in the markets. In this sense, Fresón de Palos plans to reach around five million kilos in these fruits.
Marketing campaings
All this, supported by ambitious marketing and communication campaigns that have placed the brand as a benchmark in the sector. Thus, in recent years communication campaigns have been developed to encourage healthy lifestyle habits through the consumption of berries, the practice of sport and respect for the environment, supported, to transmit their messages, in fictional characters such as Los Smurfs or Peter Rabbit (from Sony Pictures) and powerful sports brands such as NBA, reaching international recognition in professional health and food advertising competitions. “We want to incorporate a younger and younger target into consumption, and accompany them throughout their lives as a healthy eating alternative,” they added.
