AFCO’s sectoral report makes it clear that the carton sector is an example of sustainability in Spain, as it generates more than 23,700 jobs and is the third largest producer in Europe, behind Germany and Italy. Furthermore, the Spanish carton industry plays a key role in society and the economy, serving multiple activities, contributing to gaining efficiency and optimising the packaging, logistics, transport and sales processes of an infinite number of products.
Carton has a role in consumption in many sectors, especially in the food industry and, in the case of UNIQ packaging, in agricultural products, with a consumption of 25.06%. The average production of corrugated board per inhabitant per year closed 2021 at 65.9 kg, 5 points higher than the previous year.
