Agroseguro starts with 3 million euros The payment of compensation for the flooding of the Ebro flood
A little more than a month after the floods caused by the overflow of some rivers, especially the Ebro, due to the intense rainfall registered since the beginning of the year, Agroseguro has initiated the payment of compensation with 3 million euros of the total of 8 million expected, which will be paid as the final assessments are made.
The crops most affected by the floods were cereals, with more than 6,800 hectares claimed, and alfalfa, with almost 4,000 hectares with damage, although there were also damages to vegetables and fruit trees. The province most affected by this accident is Zaragoza, which accumulates more than 9,000 hectares with flood damage. In total, claims have been received corresponding to more than 11,800 hectares of crops.
The appraisals began to take place at the time the water fell. On April 24, 24 experts began to work in Navarra and La Rioja. Then, in Aragón, the assessment became generalized as of May 2, with a team of 30 experts.
In the three affected communities, the immediate inspections of the reported incidents have been carried out, although in cases where the damage excluded the continuity of the crop, the definitive assessments have been made directly, which has made it possible to speed up payments.
