Agriculture in the schoolyard
Starts and the second edition of the tour “Knowing Agriculture and Livestock” in schools in the Community of Madrid. The school “Francisco de Quevedo” of Fuenlabrada was the first of the ten schools that will be visited during the months of May and June and will reach more than 1,000 students, thus giving continuity to this initiative after visits to 15 schools that took place during the first quarter of the school year 2015-2016.
In this second tour participants will enjoy entertaining and participatory three large format proposals. “The Great Game of the Oca Granjera” an adaptation of the popular game where children walk squares set in the field, the Memory “A year in the life of the farmer” in which it comes to couples set in the different tasks performed the agricultural professional; and feeding set “From field to table”, a participatory game where children can learn about the foods of the Mediterranean diet and its link with the field.
The rural environment is largely unknown among school children in big cities. Aware of this reality, the Spanish Agricultural Publishing has launched an ambitious project to show in a fun and informative society how they are and how different farm products really work and that consumers today and in the future know the history of the food they consume in their daily lives: how, where and by whom they were produced.
