Agrarex brings innovation in greenhouses and crop protection to Berlin
Ten Spanish companies of agricultural components will participate in Fruit Logistica 2019 together with AGRAGEX. The companies belong to the greenhouse and crop protection sectors.
The Spanish Association of Manufacturers-Exporters of Agricultural Machinery and its Components (AGRAGEX) is present in the new edition of Fruit Logistica, the largest commercial exchange platform for the horticultural sector worldwide, to be held in Berlin (Germany) on 6 to February 8.
In this fair, the major fruit and vegetable producing brands gather each year, which is a great opportunity for all the auxiliary industries related to the different phases of the production process.
Thus, a total ten manufacturers from our country are present at the event in the hands of AGRAGEX exhibiting their products and services. As companies specializing in the greenhouse sector travel Fertri (Hall 8.1, stand A-31), Rufepa (Hall 8.1, stand A-08), Novagric (Hall 8.1, Stand A-26) and Ulma Agrícola (Hall 8.1, stand A -24); Rábita Agrotextil (pavilion 11.2, stand A-02) will represent agricultural meshes; Sotrafa (pavilion 5.1, stand A-01), to agricultural plastics; and on the part of the sector of the protection and nutrition of crops attend Artal (pavilion 8.2, stand A-32), Plymag (pavilion 8.2, stand A-32), Arvensis (pavilion 8.2, standA-01) and Chemistries Meristem (pavilion 10.2) , stand A-03). AGRAGEX also comes with its own stand (pavilion 8.2, stand A-32).
The Association represents the machinery, equipment and means of Spanish agricultural production
The main objective that marks the Association during its presence in Fruit Logistica is to facilitate these companies contact with the purchasing departments of the large producers of horticultural products in order to present themselves as potential suppliers.
“Although the main engine of the contest is the production of fruit and vegetables, the auxiliary industry is acquiring more and more weight, making Fruit Logistica a must for many companies in the sector,” says the foreign trade technician of AGRAGEX , Juan Luis Arrieta. “The Association represents the machinery, equipment and means of Spanish agricultural production and its presence in Fruit Logistica is a clear indicator of the strategic importance of this event.”
For Arrieta, “although this fair is undoubtedly the ideal meeting to establish commercial relationships with German fruit and vegetable producers, the tremendous international reach of it makes it a valid access road for virtually any market in the world.” In addition, the head of AGRAGEX highlights “the high degree of professionalism of the visitors of Fruit Logistica, the vast majority of them with a clear commercial orientation, which makes this event a good opportunity to find potential distributors of the markets of the five continents. ”
The director of Químicas Meristem -one of the Spanish companies that will accompany AGRAGEX in Berlin-, Ernesto Santaballa, assures that “in addition to being an international forum where to strengthen clients and establish new commercial relationships, the participation in Fruit Logistica with its own stand supposes the opportunity to contact complementary agents of the value chain, with whom to identify synergies to create alliances that allow future collaborations. The objective of these alliances is to improve year after year the quality and effectiveness of the products that the company offers to its distributors, through constant innovation and development “.
The climatic conditions in Germany mean that fruit and vegetable production is limited in many cases to greenhouse cultivation systems, which makes it an interesting market for AGRAGEX partners related to this sector. It should be noted that this country has the largest production of asparagus in Europe, with a market share of 40%, as well as important apple crops, which account for 75% of its total fruit production.
In spite of this, Germany depends on the importation of fruits and vegetables to be supplied. Spain, Italy and the Netherlands are its main suppliers, and precisely these three countries are the most represented at the fair, with 385, 527 and 351 exhibitors, respectively.
