A journey through the sights and flavors of Spain at FITUR
The richness and variety Spanish cuisine and the extensive possibilities offered by the binomial tourism-gastronomy is exposed from today until January 24 in IFEMA Madrid. The institutional stand of the Ministry of Spanish Agriculture (MAGRAMA) exhibits the broad potential of Food Spain, National Parks, Biosphere Reserves and Natural Paths, under the message “Travel through landscapes and flavors of Spain”.
Protected designations of origin (PDO) and protected geographical indications (PGI) in order to raise awareness of the richness and variety Spanish cuisine, various outreach activities and information about the quality of protected figures will be made. Spain has more than 300 protected quality foods, which constitute the system used in the European Union for recognition of differentiated quality resulting from own and unique characteristics, due to the geographical environment in which the raw materials are produced, processed products, and the influence of the human factor involved in them.
Additionally, more than 25 representatives of regulatory advice will publicize their products and tastings guided tours and tastings and activities aimed at groups of interest, as bloggers and students of tourism and catering.
In this same scenario, the Ministry has scheduled a thematic presentation on Wednesday 20 at 17 h, which will be opened by the Secretary General of Agriculture and Food, Carlos Cabanas, and with the participation of journalist Roberto Brasero and cook Michelangelo from the cross. In it, under the title “Travel through landscapes and flavors of Spain”, these two experts will guide the public for a “natural way” to “taste” our landscapes.

Information on the work and objectives of the Natural Paths, whose network will reach this year to reach a size of 10,000 km will also be offered, 20 and 22 at 12.00.
