France: SPACE solidarities with the planet “Livestock”
Despite an unprecedented and tense during opening context, the SPACE 2015 fair was held and ended positively, thanks to the determination and solidarity of its organizers and participants. With regard to the participation of exhibitors, 2014 records were again overcome: 1 449 exhibitors from 38 countries were present (compared to 1 428 in 2014), including 200 new companies.
The increase was particularly notable foreign visitors, with 494 companies present (compared with 458 in 2014), ie 34% of all exhibitors. The surfaces of the stands and exhibition also registered an increase, with 69,576 square meters of net area (576 m more compared to 2014 and 1076 m more compared to 2013) in a total gross floor area of 116,500 sqm.

The success of the platform for research and development on “connect my cattle operation – performance at your fingertips” it shows that visitors SPACE, and farmers as a whole, are looking for innovative and effective tools to improve performance their farms, animal welfare and working conditions. During these four days, numerous dialogues and exchanges on this platform have enabled participants to provide information about feeding accuracy, the digital support in the dairy sector, recovery of data on poultry farming and breeding of the future.
The animals also made presentations shown innovation with the only multiracial auction in France. This presented animals of the Prim’Holstein, Normande, Pie Rouge, Parda races and, for the first time, Montbéliarde and Limousin.
The success was overwhelming and included the sale for export of various animals, especially Portugal.
