More than 70,000 visitors support the success of FIGAN 2017
More than 70,000 visitors endorse the success of the last edition of the International Animal Production Fair (FIGAN), which has stood out for its professionalism and quality. With its closure, Feria de Zaragoza “ends the biennial cycle of agri-food fairs that represents the exhibition list of the most important primary sector in Europe and even the world”, said the President of the Government of Aragon, Javier Lambán.
For its part, and confirming this statement, the president of Feria de Zaragoza, Manuel Teruel, has highlighted the magnificent boulevard that, starting with FIMA -in the even years- in the even years and ending with FIGAN -odd years-, places the trade fair institution in front of the trade organizations related to the agri-food sector, where it is in the “first positions of the European and world panorama”.
The 2017 has been the most numerous edition of the International Fair of Animal Production, increasing its influx of visitors by 10% compared to 2015
This is a “record” call, in the words of Manuel Teruel, who has highlighted the quality of the visitors, their high professionalism, as well as an increase in internationality.
More than 40 nationalities have been present among the professionals who have chosen FIGAN as an inexcusable meeting point for the agricultural sector
The exhibition area has been the main focus of attention, which has gathered intense commercial activity, but it has not been the only one. The livestock event has completed its offer with an ambitious program of parallel activities, which has highlighted the large number of technical days that, as noted the general director of Feria de Zaragoza, Rogelio Cuairan, brings together all the knowledge of the sector.
One of the highlights of the day was the First Meeting of Young Farmers and Ranchers, which involved more than 400 attendees. In the opening ceremony, the Aragonese president highlighted the work of Zaragoza Fair and the importance of FIGAN not only for the “large number of exhibitors and visitors” it has, but also “reinforces the role of Zaragoza as a fair capital in the global context “. The head of the regional government has wanted to be present at this important event, where he has referred to young farmers as “the leaven of Aragonese agriculture of the future.” To conclude, Lamban has asserted that “for the primary sector to be truly competitive, efforts must be made in research and innovation.”
Feria de Zaragoza is an inescapable showcase in this sense, since during the four days of FIGAN 2017 13 technical novelties and 29 technological advances have been exposed, a record for the livestock room
During the meeting, Manuel Teruel also had a few words for the young farmers, reminding the audience that “the sustainability and traceability of our region and our country is in the rough hands of those who milk and grow, not in the hands of people with soft and silk tie “, encouraging those who represent the future of the primary sector.
Another technical conference was organized by the Organization of Milk Producers (OPL), which was inaugurated by the Minister of Rural Development of Aragon, Joaquin Olona, who has called for “moderation and wisdom that Characterizes the livestock sector “.
Another attraction of the cattle show has been the presence of live animals, with more than 900 head of cattle of various breeds of bovine, caprine, equine, porcine and rabbit
In addition, the ring of exhibition of animals has served to contemplate the pure races presented by the Military Service of Breeding Caballar and Feagas. All this – a commercial exhibition area, an exhibition of animals together with a wide and varied program of events and activities – has served to elevate FIGAN 2017 as the largest edition and with the best results of its thirteen editions.
To complete its offer, Feria de Zaragoza has included, within the space of pavilion 8, a proposal based on biomass energy. The second edition of SI Bioenergy has served to put the finishing touch to a sector in which innovation and technology are two fundamental axes. In this way, Feria de Zaragoza ends four days of intense trade fair activity in which the latest developments in technology in the agricultural sector have been exposed, all the knowledge of the animal industry has gathered in multiple technical days and has enjoyed the presence of almost a thousand heads of cattle. Without a doubt, a record edition.
