Sheep production starring a discussion forum in Uruguay
The Uruguayan Wool Secretariat (SUL) will organize the next 1st and 2nd August, at the Radisson Montevideo, the International Seminar on Sheep Production. A discussion forum in which to reflect and exchange information related to sheep production sector in this South American country, addressing its origins, present and future challenges it faces as a representative to keep farming.
Throughout the seminar will be offered content and approaches to explain and show how Uruguay has developed sheep production, both for wool and for meat as well as aspects related to industrialization and commercialization of product. In addition, major changes in genetics, management, generation and adaptation of technology that have allowed this country to become a world leader in the sector will be presented. Exhibition on technology transfer, training, agribusiness and markets and perspectives on the item will also be among the topics to be exhibited.
The experiences of farmers and the invitation to the tour to be held in the post-seminar days (between 3 and 5 August) will also be part of the planned program. It has also organized visits by different establishments located in different regions of the country to show attendees this course the variety of production systems and promote exchanges between domestic and foreign producers seeking definitions and conclusions on the future of sheep sector.
