Semillas Fitó presents the newest for this campaign
In the R & D in Santa Maria del Aguila, El Ejido-Almeria (Spain), the company has presented its new products in eggplant, tomato and cucumber for this campaign: Amalia, Nerea, Ateneo and dredged, which have been all developed from this center for improvement and collaboration with local farmers.
The main technical and local media attended the presentation day where they unveiled the new communication strategy of the company first. Research, service and warranty will be the three key messages of this new strategy, which will be reflected in visual and conspicuously in all advertisements, fences and supports the company from now on. Using icons and Fitó strengths in these three areas, the campaign will highlight why research, service and warranty are the keys to success of a century-old company as Fitó.
The day also featured a presentation of work and improvement team Semillas Fito in Almeria, which is one of its main R & D centers worldwide. These facilities have left dozens of commercial varieties for Spain, Europe and countries around the world such as Mexico or Turkey.
This improvement center have also developed new commercial varieties for this campaign, which was the main goal of the conference, which was completed with a visit to greenhouses of Almeria farmers who are already using these new features.
In semi-large black eggplant, Amalia was submitted for transplants ranging from 10-15 July to 12 August in greenhouses of Almería. Its ease of curdling, uniformity, consistency postharvest place it in an excellent position in the sector and is expected to have a good business career. This variety, along with striped Nerea Esmeralda, continue to strengthen its leadership in the segment Fitó the semi-large eggplant.
Nerea striped eggplant is another step in achieving the full cycle (a challenge sued for much of the sector), covering seven months with transplants from September 1 to the end of February. This variety perfectly meets one of the most popular for striped eggplant, which retains its dark color and white marbling from start to finish growing requirements. It also presents an open and vigorous plant with ample fruit set and low labor need, in addition to its quality and consistency.
It has also presented the bouquet Ateneo tomato with caliber long cycle, which can be transplanted in early August. For transplants from August 15 it is recommended to use a rootstock of medium-low vigor as Silex, also Fitó. Ateneo presents a complete pack of resistance, good heat curdles, offers no great consistency cracked and fruit. It tastes good, high-G caliber M low and excellent post-harvest.
Finally, Dutch cucumber Drago was presented in its first business year, which stands out for its excellent production and post-harvest. Drago is recommended for planting from September 15 to October 12 and has a complete package resistance (yellowing, powdery mildew and yellow vein virus). In addition, its straight and uniform and stable throughout the cycle length fruit, not exceeding 30 centimeters long
