Spain: 1,800 companies have been created through the program in four years Empleaverde
Their projects are driving the improvement in employment, business and the environment through sustainable business
The empleaverde Program, an initiative of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, financed by the European Social Fund, has just presented the results of their projects; very positive results because they have promoted the improvement of employment, business and the environment through sustainable business, in the words of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Isabel García Tejerina, are “key to create better jobs and more competitive businesses. ”
According Tejerina green jobs are among the fastest growing in the European economy and are an opportunity to enhance Europe’s competitiveness in the world, ensuring the welfare of future generations and support sustainable and quality employment.
During these years we have developed thanks to empleaverde 189 projects that has reached about 900,000 people, in addition to help create and grow to more than 1,800 companies Program.
Also, the program has trained more than 42,000 people and has involved more than 350 entities, and develop more than 2,800 actions such as training courses, workshops, counseling and publications, among others. In addition, this Green initiative projects have enabled the creation of over 2,400 direct jobs.
Results
During the event, there have been results of some of the companies that are part of this program. Including the inter Association reserve territories agroecológicos- Red Terrae, which has developed the “EcoKm0 Terrae” project focused on promoting circular economy, and the closure of local organic cycles (COL) as a differentiation factor or the Spanish Fisheries Confederation (CEPESCA), whose “SOSPESCA” project has advocated the application of good practices to reduce the environmental impact of fishing on marine ecosystems.
Moreover, the environmental foundation Fernando Gonzalez Bernaldez has developed the project “ecological agricultural practices and sustainable tourism in protected areas: we all win” with which aims to clarify the potential of existing socio-economic development in protected areas, in addition to trying to encourage potential existing socio-economic development in Natura 2000 areas of Extremadura and Castile-La Mancha with the “Contribution of sustainable management of the Natura 2000 network agricultural practices” project.
In the beginning, it was marked as target support more than 50,000 people and encourage the creation of some 1,000 companies in economic sectors related to the environment and their goals have been largely overcome.
Biodiversity Foundation operates as intermediate body of the European Social Fund (ESF) through own projects as emprendeverde Network and through collaborative arrangements with various entities across different editions of empleaverde Program.
Emprendeverde a network of more than 7,200 members
Another project empleaverde Program derivatives such as emprendeverde Network, the first Spanish platform specializing in the green business aimed at entrepreneurs and investors. This initiative is an opportunity for entrepreneurs and investors who are discovering new niches where maximize your investment.
In the last four years it has managed to increase the number of network members in over 280%, from 1,883 to about 7,300 members, of which over 100 are investors. In addition, the Program and the Red emprendeverde empleaverde have received numerous awards, among which is the European Union.
Specifically, in 2014 the Red emprendeverde starred in the campaign “Working for You” from the European Commission, which aims to disclose its actions in support of the citizens. It has also been selected as a finalist in two important European project Awards Awards EPSA (European Public Sector Awards of the European Institute for Public Administration) and European Enterprise Promotion Awards from the European Commission, whose decision will be announced this fall.
