BASF Technical Conference Vineyard: Diseases vine wood

Diseases of the wood of the vine will be the focus of the technical conference that BASF held on 30th June at the headquarters of Rioja Forum, Logroño (La Rioja) and will feature the participation of the best experts in the sector in this matter.
This technical conference will address one of the great challenges of viticulture worldwide, which causes premature death of thousands of vines and is generating millions of dollars thousand losses for the sector. It will involve leading researchers and specialists in the problems of the wood of the vine, they will provide attendees the most innovative and sustainable ways to solve such problems.
The aim of this initiative of BASF is precisely present the farmer its portfolio for the treatment of diseases of wood. These products are the result of continuous research of the company and its commitment to find innovative methods and concrete answers to problems of the vintner.
The conference will open with two presentations that will focus on the management of fungal diseases of wood of the vine. The first, focused on the vine nursery and new plantings will be given by David grammage (ICVV, Science Institute of Vine and Wine) and the second focused on adult vine, it will be borne by Jordi Luque (IRTA, research Institute of the Generalitat of Catalonia).
Subsequently, there will be a third paper on wood diseases of the vine borne by Juan Jose R. Coque (University of León).
The development manager for South Europe of the Division of BASF Crop Protection in Spain, Miguel Suarez Cervieri, will present the latest innovations of his company for this sector.
On the other hand, the President of the Spanish Observatory Wine Market Spanish, Rafael del Rey, will review the situation on the world wine market and what are the key countries in the sector.
The day will end with a cocktail where you can enjoy the wines winners of BASF Vineyard Experience – Catatalentos, a BASF initiative to support the wine sector.
