Jerónimo Molina assumes the presidency of the Cajamar Foundation
The Board of the Cajamar Foundation has agreed, after meeting on June 21, the appointment as president of Jerónimo Molina Herrera, who is replacing Antonio Pérez Lao. The new president of the Cajamar Foundation, has spent his entire career in COEXPHAL, and in the Chamber of Commerce and Cajamar, where in the last four years has been vice president of the entity.
Jerónimo Molina Herrera was born in Almería in 1949. Graduated in Economics and Business from the University of Malaga. In 1978 he was appointed manager of the Provincial Association of Employers Harvesters-Exporters Hortofrutícolas Almeria (Coexphal). In 1989 he became director of Research Department of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Almería. Ten years later, in 1998, he launched the Institute for Socio-Economic Studies of Cajamar, whose leadership held until April 2009, and during the next two years served as adviser to the Directorate General of Cajamar.
In 2011 he faced a new stage, assuming the presidency of FAECA, the Andalusian Federation of Agrifood Cooperatives, and in November 2012 was elected member of the Rector of Cajamar Board and appointed vice president of the organization, function that has developed until last April . In academia, he has taught and lectured in various Spanish and foreign universities. He is the author of numerous publications on agrarian economy, economic situation, foreign trade, food industry and intensive agriculture. He is also vice president of the Economic Observatory of Andalusia, and between awards and honorable mentions received include the Andalusia Prize for Economics of the Andalusian Government and the the Award Duna from Mediterranean Group Ecologist.
Cajamar Foundation
Founded in 2006, the Cajamar Foundation aims at promoting and implementing the activities set out in the action programs of the Cooperative Social Fund Cajamar Caja Rural, with special attention to the social economy and the agri-food sector. To this end, promotes and organizes initiatives that contribute to the promotion of cooperatives, food research, applied technological innovation, studies and analysis of the actual production and transfer of scientific and technical knowledge. Since its establishment they have been presidents of the same Juan del Aguila Molina (2006-2012) and Antonio Pérez Lao (2012-2016).
